Because he is. But 'clients' isn't the right word.

Crane will weather any open confrontation, even from me. I can be ready for his plan when it comes, I can even look for malpractice in the meantime; what we can't afford to do is level false accusations.

What did he tell you? Tell me everything.

but don't worry, I don't have any false accusations. i just get the memory of a so-called therapist telling me I'M NOT INTERESTING ENOUGH. i didn't know i had to be interesting for a therapist to keep me around. guess i should try harder next time i speak to someone.

it's not malpractice, but it's bullshit. he's in it for something. no surprise there.

His motivation is fear; either those he can have power over, or those he can manipulate to give him greater power over others.

He's interested in nothing less. You oughtn't to take it as an insult. It means you're a sane human being with no great flaw of character he can easily undermine.

[ Batman, Peter is not logical-minded enough to not find that insulting. And right now he's using it as a means to be exceptionally pissed off after everything that ruined him with Sylar. ]

doesn't change the fact that it's not something a therapist says. and considering he's calling himself one, he should get to be called on his bluff. he's using it against people who are looking for a valid person to talk to. people who are looking for someone to help them.

You're in a position to do just that, assuming you were motivated to; warn his patients yourself.

Of course it doesn't help you. Presumably you went to him looking for help because you feel you need it.

Crane won't stay hidden for long. He'll get ahead of himself, he'll get too big, and then he'll become someone else's scapegoat.
But he'll hurt people in the process.
Accusing him invites your becoming his victim. [ he doesn't say 'first' victim. ]

We can't know how our powers interact with each other until we're exposed to them. It's possible Crane was already trying to use his on you and failed.
That would make you useful.

seeing as my friends were in one, i can agree with you there.

but yeah, i wouldn't try to find out too much about the shows. or the movies, but it sort of depends on which one. there's been a lot.
